  Chapter 1

If his lover could stay out all night doing God knows what, so could he.

Dominic Poindexter had gone to the gym. Once he finished his workout, he went to a friend’s house and showered. He hung out there for an hour and a half before his buddy suggested they go out for a while. They decided to go to Mixx Atlanta, and Dominic had been out most of the night.

It was two a.m. when Dominic walked through the door of his house that he shared with his lover. They had been together for five years. The relationship was heaven during the first three years. Then they decided to live together. That’s when Dominic discovered his lover’s dark side. He liked staying out all night, and then would get an attitude when Dominic asked where he had been. He had started pressuring Dominic to have sex without a condom. And if they weren’t having a screaming match, they were getting into physical altercations.

Dominic put his keys on the coffee table. His lover stalked out of the bedroom. Standing at six-foot-one and a hundred and ninety pounds, Jerome Dixon put his hands on his hips.

Dominic was surprised to see him home on a Saturday night. Jerome wouldn’t come home until six o’clock in the morning. Jerome was in a pair of blue-and-white boxers. His skin was dark as night, and his afro was neatly trimmed. He was a financial advisor who owned a small firm.

Dominic wasn’t intimidated by Jerome’s size, build, or posturing because he was six feet tall and worked out just as much as Jerome did. They had met at the gym at the free weight area.

“Well?” Jerome asked with venom in his tone and an angry look.

“Well, what?” Dominic replied as he took off his jacket.

  “Bitch, where have you been?”

  “Out.”

  “Out where?” Jerome hollered.

“Outside,” Dominic bit out. “You don’t want me asking you what you do when you’re not here, so don’t come at me with the third degree.”

Jerome picked up a vase and hurled it at Dominic.

He ducked just in time. The vase smashed against the wall.

As Dominic was standing up straight, Jerome was in lunge mode. He tackled Dominic down on the sofa and swiftly punched him in the face. Dominic kneed him in the groin, making Jerome yelp in agony. Then Dominic punched him so hard that his body flung to the side, sending him into the coffee table. Dominic started to pull himself up. Jerome held his groin with one hand and gave Dominic a punch in the gut with the other.

Dominic grunted as the sting of the pain shot through his abdomen. His body was thick and muscular with the exception of his stomach, which was the weakest part of his body. Dominic gave Jerome a bitch slap with the back of his hand.

They went at it for twenty minutes, tearing the living room up. Dominic had a split lip and a sour gut. Jerome’s eye was starting to swell.

There was a loud banging at the door. “Atlanta PD! Open up!”

The guy who rents the basement apartment must have called the cops again.

Dominic slowly made his way to the door as he held his stomach. He opened it to see one black cop and one white cop in uniform. He recognized them. They were the cops who had shown up two months ago.

“We got a call about a disturbance – potential domestic dispute,” the black officer stated flatly.

“Everything is all right officer,” Jerome said as he walked up behind Dominic. “Just a misunderstanding.”

“By the looks of you two, it was more than a misunderstanding,” the white cop said. “And this isn’t the first time we’ve been at this address.”

“And according to our records, an officer has had to come out at least once every two to three months during the past year,” the black cop stated.

  Dominic nodded.

“Maybe you two should spend a day or two apart, get your heads together, and to give your neighbors a rest,” the white cop suggested.

“That’s fine,” Jerome said. “I was going to leave for a few hours anyway.”

The cops waited in the destroyed living room for Jerome to get dressed. He came out of the bedroom wearing jeans and a sky-blue shirt with a collar, holding a small carry-on bag. “I’m going to my sister’s house for a few days.”

Dominic knew that was a lie because Jerome’s sister had died in a drive-by shooting four years ago. She had lived in a bad neighborhood in Atlanta. Jerome had offered to help her find a new place to live, but she was stubborn. She had said she was a strong, independent woman who could take care of herself and wanted to make it on her own. Jerome had a lover in another part of the city; Dominic was sure of it.

And this nigga want to have sex with me without a condom. Lying, evil asshole.

Jerome walked out the door without saying another word.

“You have a good night, sir,” the black officer said to Dominic. They left, leaving Dominic with a messy living room. He was always the one who had to clean up after he and Jerome had a fight. But he wasn’t doing it this time.

“I’m sick of this shit. This is dysfunctional as hell.” He strode to the bedroom and opened the closet, pulling out his suitcase. “I’m thirty-eight years old. I’m getting too old for this bullshit.” He started packing his clothes.

This wasn’t the first time he had left Jerome. Dominic had moved out six months after he had moved in. That was the first time they had a physical fight. Jerome had tracked Dominic down and begged his forgiveness a month later. He shook his head at the memory. Dominic should have never come back. Jerome’s drama and antics constantly distracted Dominic from his business. Not anymore. Dominic was done.

  Chapter 2

  Almost two years later . . .

Sebastian Cole got settled in his hotel room. His assistant, Meghan, had the adjacent room. He ran a fifty-eight-million-dollar company called Cole-Tech, which was based in San Francisco, but he worked all over the country. He specialized in cyber security and analysis.

A man named Dominic Poindexter called Meghan to ask about Cole-Tech’s services. Mr. Poindexter was leading a system and web development project for a new bank that was going to open in Atlanta. He was having trouble finding competent contractors to help him set up a solid security system appropriate for financial transactions.

Since it was a bank, Sebastian wanted to handle it personally instead of sending one
of his associates. If everything went well, Sebastian would complete the project and be back in sunny San Francisco in six months. Georgia was cold this time of year. Sebastian hated the cold. He tolerated it for business purposes.

Meghan entered his room through the adjoining door. She was wearing a red teddy. “I was thinking that you might want to ease some tension before your meeting, sir,” she flirted with a smile.

She was a brunette with pale skin. He knew it wasn’t smart to bed his employees, but he couldn’t resist Meghan. Her little hips and tiny breasts were so adorable. He grinned. “Get in position, Ms. London.”

She giggled as she climbed on the bed.

He looked down at her and smiled as he unbuttoned his shirt. “A CEO’s work is never done.” He quickly dispensed of his clothes and climbed on the bed.

Meghan already had her legs open. The teddy had a slit where her juicy canal was waiting to be penetrated.

Sebastian smoothed down the spaghetti straps of the teddy, exposing her B-cup breasts. Her nipples were pink and perky. He started stroking his partially hard cock as he rubbed her cute little blossoms.

Meghan’s breathing was loud. She started wiggling with want.

He was good and hard now. He guided his tip into her. Sebastian screwed Meghan at least once a week, so he didn’t have to be careful about entering her anymore. He had stretched her to fit his size long ago. Sebastian rammed into her, making her yelp out with delight.

Meghan started rubbing his shoulders and chest as her head swayed from side to side with pleasure as he pumped.

After a few minutes, her back arched, her fingers digging into his arms. “Mmmm. Mmmm. Mmmm.” She was coming. Meghan had ladylike orgasms. Sebastian didn’t mind. He thought it was charming.

Once she was spent, Sebastian started to thrust, finding his release. He felt the slow flow of his semen escaping his body. “Ahhh!” he groaned with satisfaction. Sebastian carefully lowered his big body on top of her small frame. He gave her a kiss on the nose.

“Mmmm. Is there anything else you need, Mr. Cole?” she purred.

Sebastian smiled. She loved the assistant and boss role play. He liked it, too. “I think we should take a bath before the meeting. Unless you’re too tired to draw a bath . . .”

“Oh, no,” she breathed. “I’ll get right on it.”

Dominic was in the conference room at what would be Generational Bank. The bank was black-owned. African American celebrities and businessmen had invested in the endeavor. If it did well, other locations would be opened in LA, Houston, New York, and Chicago.

A five-foot-eight white man with blond hair walked into the room. He wore a pinstriped suit, and it looked sharp on him. A brunette wearing a sapphire dress walked behind him.

  “Mr. Dominic Poindexter?” he asked.

“Yes, Sebastian Cole, I assume,” Dominic said.

  “You assume correct.”

They gave each other a strong handshake.

“This is my assistant, Meghan,” he said.

“Nice to meet you,” Meghan greeted.

“And you,” Dominic returned. “Let’s have a seat, and I’ll explain to you where we are on the project.”

They talked for forty-five minutes as Meghan took notes. During the meeting, Dominic couldn’t help noticing how attractive Sebastian was. Dominic normally didn’t mess with white guys, but Sebastian struck a handsome profile. However, Dominic didn’t mix business with pleasure, and he really couldn’t tell if Sebastian was gay.

  They concluded the meeting.

“I look forward to working with you, Mr. Poindexter.”

  “Call me Dominic.”

“If that is the case, call me Sebastian,” he said with an easy smile. His teeth were perfectly straight and pearly white. Dominic could tell he had them professionally whitened. “Here’s my card. It has my cell phone number on the back of it.”

  Dominic took the card.

“Also, I’m staying at the Four Seasons. If you can’t reach me on my cell, just call the hotel and ask them to ring my room,” Sebastian said.

  “All right.”

They shook hands, but this time it was different. It seemed like Sebastian hung on to the handshake longer than needed.

  Hell, maybe he is gay.

  Chapter 3

During the week, Dominic and Sebastian had worked their tails off. He felt good that there was now an established plan and he had a partner he could count on. It was Friday, five o’clock, and Dominic was working out at the gym.

Dominic was an independent programmer and web developer. The bank’s board of directors hired him to develop a computer system that was secure and easy to use by employees. It was a big project. Dominic needed help. He had contacted several independent IT specialists in Atlanta, but they had come up short. They would be thirty minutes late to meetings, they didn’t return phone calls, and one had asked for a deposit and then went ghost. Dominic had called a collections agency concerning the contractor who took the deposit. Then he started searching for another IT person to collaborate with.

He had heard of Cole-Tech. They had an awesome reputation. Dominic couldn’t keep wasting time with wannabe businessmen. This was a big and important project. Since Cole-Tech was the best cyber security company in the nation, he knew they would be expensive, but it was worth it. Dominic wanted the project finished so he could finally get the hell out of Atlanta.

As he ran on the treadmill, he thought about how sick he was of the city. His mother had moved him and his two sisters there when he was thirteen. At that time, Atlanta was becoming a black mecca. His mother had gotten a good job at the airport that paid her well enough to take care of them. His parents were divorced — his mother had to divorce his father; otherwise, he would have killed them all. Dominic’s father was an abusive man. He would beat his mother just because it was Tuesday. On the weekends, he would beat Dominic and his sisters. The last straw was when his father had started touching Dominic’s eldest sister and his mother walked in on it. That was the first time his mother had stood up to his father. It was also the first time that his mother had pulled a knife on the man. His father had fled the house, never to be heard from again.

Atlanta wasn’t what it used to be. The crime was so bad you didn’t know if you were going to make it home from the grocery store. The cost of living was out of sight, which caused a lot of poverty. And there seemed to be a large number riffraff that migrated to Atlanta every year, making the problems worse.

Dominic had been thinking about moving to Florida, but race relations has deteriorated there, so he set his sights on Houston. He was researching the quality of life there when he got the call to work on the Generational Bank computer system and website. The project was so lucrative he couldn’t turn it down. However, once it was done, Dominic was going to say goodbye to Atlanta.

He continued to run on the treadmill. His eyes widened when a sweaty Sebastian Cole approached his machine with a smile.

Dominic pulled his earbuds out and slowed the treadmill to a light jogging pace.

“Fancy seeing you here,” Sebastian said. His blond hair was soaked. His muscles were well defined all over his body. There wasn’t an ounce of fat on him. Sebastian wore a loose muscle shirt and a pair of red shorts.

“I can say the same. I would think you worked out at the hotel,” Dominic said.

“I went in there once. I wasn’t crazy about the equipment, so I started looking around at the local gyms. This place suited my needs. I bought a membership for eight months.”

Dominic nodded. “How do you like it so far?”

“Well, this is my third time here, but I think it’s great. Listen, do you want to get a bite to eat tonight?”

“Sure,” Dominic answered. He was always hungry after a workout.

“What places are good here to eat?”

“The Boogalou Restaurant. They have excellent lamb.”

“Fantastic. I’ll meet you there a
t seven.”

“You better make it eight. Traffic is crazy here, and I like to shower at home after a workout.”

“All right. I’ll see you then,” Sebastian said and walked away.

Dominic put his earbuds back in. He continued the slow jog on the treadmill to cool down. A small smile spread across his lips. He still wasn’t sure if Sebastian was gay, but he was happy to spend time with a good-looking guy. In the past two years, he had been out on a few dates, but they didn’t lead anywhere. He had two one-night stands during that time. The sex was good, but what he really wanted was a monogamous relationship with someone he could build a future with.

  ****

Sebastian quickly found out why Dominic liked showering at home. There were six guys in the shower, and they were all beating their meat in the open. Sebastian quickly turned around and went back to his locker. He put his gym clothes back on and grabbed his duffle bag. He decided to shower at the hotel.

As he walked through the gym, he looked for Dominic. He was nowhere to be seen. He must have left already. Sebastian went to his rental car. He was about to unlock the door when he heard the click of a gun.

“Give me your shoes, wallet, and watch,” the man snarled.

Before Sebastian could react, the would-be mugger yelled out. Sebastian turned around to see Dominic with his massive arm around the skinny kid’s neck. Dominic’s other hand was squeezing the kid’s wrist, making him drop the gun.

Sebastian quickly punched the mugger in the nose.

Two hours later, Sebastian and Dominic were leaving the Atlanta Police Station. Sebastian pressed charges against the mugger. He and Dominic gave their statements. The mugger was sixteen years old, and this wasn’t the first time he had been in trouble with the law.

Sebastian exhaled. “Well, this evening took a turn.”
